But we’ve just fixed that. Select Berger-Seidle products are now available in 1L bottles, giving you a way to buy closer to what a smaller job actually needs. Most brands only sell in the manufacturer's standard pack sizes, which usually means big 5L bottles. Because we pack and bottle these in-house, we can offer this smaller size in a way most suppliers can't.
What's Now Available in 1L
Several Berger-Seidle products have joined the 1L range. Here's what each one is for and the kind of job it suits.
Aqua-Seal Pafuki Wood Filler
A water-based, solvent-free filler for small gaps (1–2mm), mixed with fine sanding dust so the filler picks up the colour of your own floor. Coverage is roughly 20sqm per litre, so a 1L bottle goes a long way on a single room or a run of touched-up joints. No need to open a 5L tub for a job that size.
Aqua-Seal Pak Stop Wood Filler
For gaps too wide for Pafuki, Pak Stop is a flexible, trowel-applied filler that stays elastic once cured, so it moves with the floor instead of cracking out. It's a different job to Pafuki, so if you're not sure which one suits your gaps, it's worth checking with us before buying.
Aqua-Seal FlexPrimer
A water-based primer applied to bare, sanded timber before a finish coat. It reduces edge bonding and helps the topcoat go on more evenly. A smaller bottle can be useful if you're prepping a smaller area, like a single room, ahead of coating.
Aqua-Seal Exobloc
A one-component sealer best suited to exotic timber species or floors that have previously been stained. A 1L option is handy if you're only sealing a feature area, a hallway, or a piece of furniture rather than a whole floor.
Aqua-Seal SmartHome Matt
A single-component, water-based polyurethane built as an easy, budget-friendly DIY varnish, with coverage around 10sqm per litre. Being single-component means there’s no mixing or hardener, making it one of the more forgiving finishes for a first-time DIYer. And the 1L size means you can varnish a small room or do a touch-up coat without committing to 5L.
Aqua-Seal EcoGold
Berger-Seidle's top-of-range single-component varnish, available in matt or semi-gloss, also at around 10sqm per litre coverage. If you want a premium finish on a smaller area, or you're topping up an existing EcoGold floor after a repair, the 1L bottle avoids paying for a full 5L you won't use.
Aqua-Seal Nordic White
A fast-drying, water-based finish that builds up a Scandinavian-style whitewashed look. The more coats you apply, the more white the floor becomes. It's a specialised, pigmented product, so it's worth testing on an offcut first. A 1L bottle is a sensible way to trial the look or finish a small feature area before deciding whether to commit to a full floor.
A Rough Guide to Picking Your Size
As a general starting point, based on the coverage rates listed on each product page:
- Pafuki (fillers): approx. 20sqm per litre. A 1L bottle comfortably covers gap-filling across an average room.
- FlexPrimer, SmartHome, EcoGold: approx. 10sqm per litre per coat. Useful for working out how many litres a single room or touch-up area will realistically need.
- Whole-floor or multi-room jobs: the 5L size will still work out cheaper per litre and means fewer bottles to buy and mix.
If you're not sure which size covers your project, it's worth measuring the area first and checking the coverage rate on the specific product page. - Anyone finishing off a job who just needs a bit more product to get there
- First-time DIYers who'd rather trial a product like Nordic White before buying in bulk

Why haven't other suppliers offered a 1L size before?
